This assignment was to write a short story of not more than a thousand words. The assignment can be seen here
Without the benefit of my notes (which have temporarily gone AWOL), the tutor was concerned that the initial date represented a diary entry, and that the writing was being done on that date. So he was looking forty four years prior to that date whereas I was writing 44 years after that date. He also wondered whether the first proper paragraph might be removed in its entirety. "As God is my witness" screamed Scarlet O'Hara at him, thus inappropriate. He suggested removing reference to the line length in the paragraph beginning "I held mine in my delta kite"
